'Sarah Is The Kindest Soul': East Hampton Star Student
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one East Hampton resident who is having an impact.

EAST HAMPTON, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Madison who nominated Sarah of East Hampton.

How do you know the star local student?
I’m her big sister.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Sarah is the kindest soul I have ever met. I have watched her grow and I am so incredibly proud of her. Our mom is physically disabled and has taught us to have empathy. Sarah took this trait and has shown it her entire life. She never lets a child sit or play alone.
Sarah wants to be a friend to everyone. She loves animals, especially the animals that everyone else considers gross or ugly. Sarah never wants anyone to feel alone. I am 18 years old, and I will proudly tell anyone that my best friend is my 9-year-old sister.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Sarah has watched not only me but our mom as well go through many difficult physical symptoms, and she’s persevered through everything with a huge warm smile.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Sarah.
