Volunteers Needed to Place Flags on Veterans Graves

Middletown State Veterans Cemetery: Annual placing of flags for Veterans Day.....Volunteers Needed

The East Hampton VFW Post 5095 and the East Hampton VFW Auxiliary Post 5095 will be sponsoring the placing 9000 flags on veterans’ graves at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, November 7th starting 8 AM sharp in honor of Veterans Day. Other individual adult volunteers and service organizations are welcome to volunteer as well. The Post also is reaching out to children’s organizations such as the boys and girls scouting programs, 4-H Clubs, Children of the American Revolution and the many other children’s organizations to volunteer a few hours on Saturday morning to help place flags of our veterans’ graves.

The placing of the flags will be at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery located on Bow Lane in Middletown. The cemetery is located near Connecticut Valley State Hospital, just off of Route 9. Volunteers are also needed to remove the 9000 flags the following Saturday, November 14, also at 8 AM.
