Maybe you know someone like Peggy Smith of Napa, Calif. Smith, a hospice nurse, has been a foster parent to about 50 children over the last 18 years, adopting three of them. She also started Expressions of Hope which provides a care package of essentials to help ease the transition as children enter the foster care system.
Or maybe you know Lois Zane of Woodbury, Conn. She volunteers at the Glebe House, dedicating more than 25 years to the historical home. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church gets her loving attention too, whether it‘s cleaning under the kneelers, washing the woodwork, vacuuming the seat cushions, polishing the silver or tending to church records.
