Youth Sports at the YMCA

Play, learn, and have fun at our Winter 2 Basketball, Lego, and dance classes!

Come try our sports and enrichment activities at the Middlesex YMCA. We're more than a Gym!

At the Middlesex YMCA we create a positive atmosphere where your children can make friends, learn skills, and have fun all year round. Our Winter 2 session begins Saturday, March 4th.

You’ve heard it before: we’re more than a gym, we’re a cause. What does that mean; especially if many of our classes take part in the gym? It means we offer more than just games...while playing games. The Y is for youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living. These three concepts can be found in all of our programs. Sports are more than dribbling, kicking, or throwing. We teach social skills: how to greet peers and share common interests, how to work together with a partner, and how to HAVE FUN! Children learn that healthy living can be fun. It shouldn’t be a chore to work up a sweat in youth classes, and it isn’t at the Y. Our activities are participation based, exciting, and all inclusive!

Our new Saturday offerings include: Beginner Judo, Parent and Me Basketball (3 yrs), Pee-Wee Basketball (4 - 5 yrs), Bodacious Building Blocks (4 - 7 yrs), and Basketball (6-12 yrs)! Your kids will learn the basics of dribbling, passing, foot work, defense, and teamwork. All these skills will be introduced through inclusive activities and games designed to create excitement and interest in physical activity and the sport of basketball.

Our Sundays offer a variety of dance classes: Dance with Me (18 mths and up), Pre-Ballet (2.5 - 4 yrs)! Our dance classes are designed to create an interest in dance by teaching the basic steps to a variety of styles while being fun and engaging.
