For 18th Year, Rotary Club Offers Free, Delivered Thanksgiving Dinners

From the East Haven Rotary Club:

EAST HAVEN, CT —For the 18th year in a row, the East Haven Rotary Club will be providing East Haven residents a free, full-course Thanksgiving dinner available for delivery the morning of Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.

Shoreline Café will be packaging the dinners for takeout, Rotary members pick them up and start delivering.

Many more families may find themselves in need of some type of assistance, and the Rotary is encouraging residents to feel comfortable to participate in this program. In 2023, the Rotary provided more dinners than ever before.

"On behalf of the Rotary Club, I would like to extend our gratitude to Shoreline Café as they graciously agreed to take over the preparation of the meals because of the closure of Boston Market. We are extremely grateful as they will play a vital role in the success of this community service project," Rotarian and holiday dinner chairperson, Ashley Lesco.

East Haven residents who'd like to partake in the holiday meal should all Rotarian Ashley Lesco at (203) 208-8212 or email to Ehrotarygivesthanks@gmail.com no later than Friday, Nov 22. Residents must indicate the number of meals needed. All meal deliveries will begin at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Donations are gratefully accepted

With the increasing needs of the community, especially this year, monetary donations would be greatly appreciated. Anyone wishing to donate may contact any East Haven Rotarian or mail checks payable to East Haven Rotary Club, Inc. with 'Thanksgiving Donation' in the memo section, to P.O. Box 120598 East Haven, CT 06512. You may also go to the Rotary website www.easthavenrotary.org under Donate Today choose Thanksgiving Dinners to make a monetary donation. The Rotary is an approved 501c3 corporation.
