2 East Haven Police Cruisers Struck By Tractor Trailer: Police
Inside one of the vehicle's was the Police Department's K-9 Ace.
EAST HAVEN, CT — Two East Haven Police cruisers were struck by a tractor-trailer as police officers were assisting State Police with a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 95 by Exit 51 on the southbound side of the highway.
"Last night, while assisting the Connecticut State Police with a fatal pedestrian accident on I-95, two (2) East Haven cruisers were struck by a tractor trailer while parked unoccupied on Frontage Road," Police Lt. Joseph M. Murgo said. "One of the vehicles struck was an EHPD K-9 cruiser with K-9 Ace within but the dog was not injured."
No injuries were sustained as a result of this accident. The tractor trailer remained on scene after the accident.
