Murgo said Foye left the bank with more than $4,000 and then fled in a red Ford F-150 pickup truck waiting for him in the area of 55 Messina Drive. The truck was filled with mattresses and other items. Murgo said that the truck was driven by Thomas. He said surveillance photos of both suspects and the get-away vehicle that were posted to social media and published by Patch Wednesday led to tips to come "pouring in immediately."
Murgo said once investigators ID'd the two men, they were found and "taken into custody without issue" after patrol officers made a car stop of the two men in the red truck in the early morning hours Thursday.
A large amount of cash, as well as drug paraphernalia was seized after the suspects were taken into custody, Murgo said.
Thomas and Foye were charged with robbery in the second degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the second degree, larceny in the second degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree.
They are both being held on $50,000 bond and will face a judge on Friday in New Haven.
Murgo said, "We want to thank our residents who reached out with tips regarding the identity of both suspects."
