2 New Haven Residents Burglarized Cars: East Haven Police
Police say two men are facing several charges and they were found connected to a stolen car out of New Haven.
EAST HAVEN, CT — An alert East Haven resident helped police nab two New Haven men who are accused of breaking into vehicles in town, police said. On Jan. 17, officers responded to South Dale Street and Dora Drive after an "alert resident" called 911 to report suspicious activity.
The resident saw three individuals burglarizing vehicles in the neighborhood, police said. Upon officer’s arrival they located a male, later identified as Brandon Williams, 23, sitting in the passenger seat of a gray Toyota which was later determined to have been stolen out of New Haven on Jan. 11, police said. Williams exited the passenger side of the vehicle and attempted to flee but was quickly arrested, police said.
Police said several cars in the immediate area had been broken into. Several witnesses provided descriptions of the other two suspects still believed to be in the area, police said. As officers were speaking to witnesses, a male, later identified as Keshawn Heard was seen walking down South Dale Street toward the stolen car, police said.
