20th Annual Rotary 'Clothe The Children' Helps East Haven Kids
Over the past 20 years, the East Haven Rotary Club program has helped more than 1,300 East Haven elementary and middle school kids-in-need.

EAST HAVEN, CT —The East Haven Rotary Club recently hosted its 20th Annual “Ben Mazzucco Clothe the Children” event at Kohl’s in Branford.
Each year, Rotarians receive suggested lists of names of deserving children from East Haven elementary and middle schools.
Last month, the children and their parents/guardians met Rotarians at Kohl’s and were able to spend $100 for clothes.

It's noted in a news release that the "club monitors quite closely that all items purchased are classified as clothing and that the sizes will correspond to the child present."
Kohl’s "generously extends an additional discount to the Rotary, which enables the club to increase the number of children served."

Teachers at East Haven elementary and middle schools coordinated the fundraising. The Rotary said in a statement that it's "very pleased with this unique 'kids-helping-kids' type of fundraising."
During the past 20 years, the East Haven Rotary “Clothe the Children” program has provided clothing for more than 1,300 children. And with Kohl's sale prices and Rotary discount, kids in need have received around $120,000 worth of clothing, the Rotary said.
