$22M Redevelopment Of East Haven High School Approved: Report

The town's portion of the project could cost up to $12 million, officials say.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The town has signed off on selling a portion of the the former high school building for $500,000 and a developer will construct 70-units of mixed-income, age-restricted apartments, the New Haven Register reports.

The other section of the property will be a community center including a teen center, gym and pool, the Register reports. The project will cost $22 million and will be paid for by WinnProperties. Their project should be completed by November 2020.

The town portion of the project for the community center could cost between $7 to $12 million and no timeline has been given for that work, the Register reports.
