3 East Haven Cops Remain Hospitalized with Serious Injuries
A total of 5 police officers from East Haven were injured during Wednesday's explosion in North Haven.
EAST HAVEN, CT — Two East Haven Police officers, who were injured in a North Haven explosion last night, have been released from the hospital, while three remain hospitalized, said Police Lt. Joseph M. Murgo.
"This is an update regarding the conditions of the five injured East Haven Police officers injured during last night’s barricaded subject/ explosion incident. Out of the five East Haven officers, two have since been released. Three officers remain hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
"Their injuries are consistent with being in close proximity to the blast and range from concussions to leg injuries. We want to express our sincere gratitude to the rest of the South Central Regional Swat Team who went above and beyond for each other during this incident. After the initial blast, SCR-SWAT team members ran towards the danger and risked their lives to assist their injured team members," Murgo said in a news released.
