NORTH HAVEN, CONN. Paul Cicarella has been endorsed by the Connecticut carpenter’s union in the race for the 34th District State Senate seat.
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 326 Connecticut union announced its endorsement of Republican Paul Cicarella on October 2, 2020 on behalf of its nearly 3,000 members in Connecticut. Cicarella is running to represent the 34th district including the towns of Durham, East Haven, North Haven and Wallingford.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the many carpenters in our state and in our district who are working hard to do their jobs, support our economy and provide for their families in these difficult times,” said Cicarella. “Our state must adopt policies that support workers and create opportunities. I thank this group for their strong support and recognition of my commitment to strengthen our state and make it a place where all people have a chance to succeed.”
In an endorsement letter signed by President Chris Bachant and Jeff Wolcheski, the union praised Cicarella for his support when it comes to issues that matter to workers and their families.
“Your support for issues that matter to our members and their families, such as support for the prevailing rate, opposition to tax fraud and wage theft resulting from the growing underground economy and the need to improve Connecticut’s decaying infrastructure are all critical to the future of our union, our industry and our state,” the letter states.
“As a first-time candidate for the State Senate, you have a unique opportunity to replace one of the most well-respected and influential Connecticut legislators in recent memory, State Senator Len Fasano. We believe that you have the potential to follow Senator Fasano’s example of representing your district in a bipartisan manner that benefits the 34th District and the State of Connecticut.”
Paul Cicarella is a small business owner and former corrections officer who grew up in East Haven and currently lives in North Haven with his wife Christy who works as a nurse, their two children who attend North Haven public schools, and their two bulldogs.
