$577K State Grant Secured for 'Critical' East Haven School Upgrades
State lawmakers announced that the funds will be approved by the State Bond Commission on Friday.

State Representatives James Albis (D-East Haven) and Roland Lemar (D- New Haven, East Haven) are excited to announce that the State Bond Commission is expected to approve a $577,500 state grant for an East Haven school at its meeting scheduled for Friday, January 29, according to a joint prepared statement released by the lawmakers Wednesday.
The funding will be used to replace the HVAC system at Momauguin Elementary School in East Haven.
“Thank you Governor Malloy for this generous grant for Momauguin Elementary School a priority. This state funding to improve our elementary school will make for a better learning environment for our young students. In recent years our elementary school has greatly benefitted from state aid such as this which has even allowed for a new school based health center,” remarked Rep. Albis in a statement.

“I am so pleased to see this grant come through for Momauguin Elementary School and am grateful Governor Malloy made this funding a priority. Our kids deserve to learn in high-quality schools that are in top-notch shape,” Rep. Lemar said in a statement.
This funding was allocated as part of the Alliance District program which supports funding strategies to dramatically increase student outcomes and close achievement gaps.
