After Almost A Quarter Century, Rizza Leaves Town Hall

Paul Rizza served as finance director under former Mayor Joe Maturo. He was kept on by new Mayor Joe Carfora to see the budget audit done.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Town finance director Paul Rizza was let go Monday, the New Haven Register reported. Mayor Joseph Carfora told Patch that Rizza retired.

"I want to wish Paul a great retirement and thanking him for his service to the town for all the years and different administrations that he worked for," Carfora said.

Rizza has worked for the town for nearly a quarter century.

Rizza was reported to have been kept in his job to see the annual budget audit handled. Carfora was sworn in as mayor in November of 2019.
