After Removing 25 Cats From Home, Animal Shelter Needs Litter, Food

On Friday, East Haven Animal Shelter staff went to a home where the cat population had "gotten out of hand" and removed dozens of cats.

EAST HAVEN, CT —As the "situation had gotten out of hand," the East Haven Animal Shelter went to a home Friday where dozens of cats were living, most are ill and in need of help.

Now, the shelter needs to help to care for the 25 cats it took from the house.

"Despite not getting the best start in life, all of them are loving and friendly," a Facebook post reads.

All the cats were in need of flea treatment, and most need veterinarian care.

"In the next few weeks of care we will be going through supplies quickly, so if you have any cat litter and food you can spare, we would greatly appreciate it," the shelter posted.

"These loving guys and girls will also be looking for loving homes," and will in the near future be up for adoption.

In the meantime, the shelter posted a link to its Amazon wish list, which includes mostly food and cat litter, for those who are able to help.
