Alfonso Lieto obituary with Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Alfonso Lieto, 78 of East Haven, passed away on May 15, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Toni DePonte, he was born in Minore, Italy February 1, 1947 and came to the USA in 1958. He is survived by his loving wife, brothers and sisters, Serafina (Luigi) Grillo, Giuseppe Lieto, Rita (John) Amodei, Angelo (Sandy) Lieto, Rosa (Al) Amendola and Lillian Guliana. He is also survived by his great nephew and Godchild, Cameron along with several nieces/nephes and great neives/nephews. He leaves his two cats, Fache and Spoceam.

Alfonso was a craftsman auto upholster for over 60 years, “the Best!” He loved working on cars even up until the day he fell ill. Everyone who met him loved him, he was a kind man. He loved all animals and could be seen walking around with his cat, Spoceam and feeding the birds, and every other animal. He enjoyed playing the horses and spending time at Sports Haven with all his friends there. Alfonso will be missed by all.

Family will receive friends on Thursday May 22, 2025 from 5 PM until the time of his service at 7 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private at a later date.
