'Always Willing To Help Someone': East Haven Star Student

EAST HAVEN, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Nicole Avila, who nominated her son, Michael, of East Haven.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Michael is a charming young man. He gets straight As and he loves school especially Math. Michael is always willing to help someone and he take pride in what he does. He has been doing martial arts since he was 3. Being social is something he loves to do.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

I want everyone to know that Michael is a hardworker and he never gives up. He is an amazing son and he has been my rock through good and bad times. Michael always wants to see you have a smile on your face.
