Update: Transformer Fire, 'Widespread' Power Outage Impacting 'Large Portion Of Town:' East Haven Fire Chief

Outage has resulted in multiple fire alarms, Main St transformer fire, people stuck in elevator as EHFD battle brush fire: Chief Marcarelli.

EAST HAVEN, CT—Update at 7:45 p.m.: According to United Illuminating, all power has been restored. No reason for the outage was provided.

A "widespread power outage" in E, according to East Haven Fire Chief Matthew Marcarelli.

Marcarelli posted to Facebook that the outage is "impacting a large portion of town."

Marcarelli told Patch that there are people stuck in an elevator and this comes as the department is fighting a brush fire.

Fire officials said 3,000 customers are affected. Restoration is expected by 9 pm

Marcarelli said updates will be made when more information becomes available.
