It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Louise Ellen Wolcott of Voluntown, who passed peacefully on May 27, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Louise is survived by the love of her life — her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 46 years, William David Wolcott Jr, who she met at Eli Whitney. She is also survived by her sons, William David Wolcott III and his wife, Robyn, with her beloved granddaughter Calli; and Kevin Wolcott and his wife, Kelly; and her siblings, Mary Caggiano, Harold and David Thompson. Louise was well-known in town as “Sewlew” from her hobby as a seamstress, and also helped raise dozens of children with her home daycare. Above all, she was a devoted mother to Bill & Kevin, instilling in them the values of integrity, hard work, and respect. Louise enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, relaxing at camp while watching hummingbirds dance around her, and had a special fondness for lighthouses. She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she shared with family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
