EAST HAVEN, CT — An arrest has been made following a domestic violence-related assault investigation involving a motor vehicle striking a pedestrian on Main Street Thursday morning, East Haven Police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo said.
It was around 9:45 a.m. when officers were called to the area of Main Street and Charter Oak Avenue and found "an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle." Murgo said.
The victim was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for further evaluation and treatment, he said.
According to police, witness statements at the scene as well as video evidence reviewed by investigators show the "incident was intentional and stemmed from a domestic violence-related dispute prior to the collision."
East Haven police arrested and charged Christina Cooper, 27, of New Haven, with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, reckless driving, and other moving violations.
Cooper was held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at New Haven Superior Court Friday.
