Man Accused Of Harassing Police Employees: East Haven Police

Police received a "series of harassing and racially charged communications," the department said.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police said Saturday an arrest has been made following an investigation into a "series of harassing and racially charged communications" directed at East Haven Police Department officers, public safety dispatchers, and records division employees.

On May 31, police began investigating numerous phone calls, emails, and voicemail messages made by Mark Williams, 24, of East Haven, police said.

"Investigators determined that between May 31, 2026, and June 1, 2026, Williams contacted the East Haven Public Safety Communications Center and Record’s Division numerous times," police said in a news release. "Throughout those recorded communications, Williams repeatedly directed racist, threatening, discriminatory, degrading, and sexually explicit communications toward multiple East Haven Police Department employees."

"Investigators documented repeated racist remarks, ethnic slurs, and other targeted verbal abuse directed at employees because of their race, ethnicity, and background," police said in a statement. "The communications served no legitimate purpose and were intended to harass, alarm, and intimidate those who received them."

Williams is charged with second-degree harassment and was released on a $10,000 bond.
