Beverly Calamita obituary

Beverly Calamita, 85, of East Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.Born on June 30, 1940, Beverly was the daughter of the late Anne and Paul Briglia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen Calamita.
Beverly was formerly married to Thomas Coleman, who predeceased her, and was the father of her son, Paul Coleman.A lifetime resident of East Haven, Beverly dedicated her life to her home and family.

A devoted mother to Paul Coleman and mother-in-law to Patricia Coleman, she found her greatest happiness in caring for those she loved. She is also survived by her stepsons, Stephen Calamita (Marion Calamita) and Billy Calamita. Family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was a loving grandmother to Maria Coleman (Leonard Bonanno), Annie Pates (Garret Pates), and Scott Vaspasiano (Tabitha Gagne), and a proud great-grandmother to Savannah Pates. Through her marriage to Stephen, she was also a step-grandmother to Nancy Klotzman (Scott Klotzman), Stephen Calamita (Lynn Calamita), and Paul Calamita (Melissa Calamita), and their children: Cal and Jax Klotzman; Aubrey, Adrianna, and Gabriella Calamita; Samantha and Katie Calamita; and the late Gianna Calamita.

Beverly was especially grateful for the love, companionship, and care shown to her, particularly in her later years, by her cherished sister-in-heart, Dorothy Odsen of Ridgecrest, California, and her dear cousins, Jean Garitta, Joan Zink, and Wendy LoSchiavo. Their kindness, support, and devotion brought her great comfort and meant so much to Beverly and her family.

Beverly enjoyed cooking for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and loved watching them grow through the years. Whether sharing a meal, celebrating holidays, or enjoying simple moments together, Beverly's greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.
In her later years, she found comfort and happiness in coloring, arts and crafts, and other creative activities that brought smiles to her days.

Beverly will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. The memories she created around the kitchen table, the love she shared with her grandchildren, and the kindness she showed to those around her will never be forgotten.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. A private family service will be held.
