EAST HAVEN, CT — It's that time of the year when East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora asks for residents to nominate the people who make a real difference in the community for his annual Mayor's Merit Award.
"We're looking for individuals who go above and beyond, whether they're a dedicated volunteer, a community leader, a good neighbor, or someone whose kindness and commitment help make East Haven a better place to live," Carfora said.
"If someone comes to mind, we'd love to hear about them," he added. "Take a few minutes to submit a nomination and help us celebrate the people who make our town special."
The East Haven Mayor Merit Award recognizes individual residents of all ages who demonstrate exceptional leadership, community involvement, and outstanding achievements.
The awards' nominee categories are Student, Resident, Senior, Business, and Public Safety.
Recipients are selected through nominations and receive a certificate of recognition during the awardees' celebration, which kicks off the Fall Fest on Sept. 10 at Amarante's Sea Cliff.
The recipients are selected by the mayor's Merit Award Committee.
