Louis J. LaViola, 84, of Milford passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026 surrounded by his family at Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus. Loving companion of Marlene Sisbarro Turrini of Milford. Loving and devoted father to Kimberly (Al) Shaul of East Haven, Robert (Cyndi) LaViola of Woodbridge, Christopher (Lindsay) LaViola of Middlefield and stepfather to Michael (Maria) Turrini of Naugatuck. Loving grandfather to Michael (Courtney) LaViola, Haylie LaViola, Madison (Jack) Reda, Harley (Nick) Phillips, Brandon (Brittany) Turrini, Jordan Turrini, Ethan Turrini, Jeremy (Kaitlin) Ploski and the late Deanna DelMonaco. Great-grandfather to Emerson and Elias Turrini, Mira Reda, Eva Phillips and Olivia LaViola. In 1994, Louis was predeceased by his wife, Judith Klynduck LaViola. Brother of Frank (Adele) LaViola of Horseheads, NY and the late Michael LaViola. Louis leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was born in New Haven on June 28, 1942 son of the late Cosmo and Theresa Cavallaro LaViola. After honorably serving in the U.S. Army, he returned to New Haven and worked for the family-owned business, Metal Masters, eventually becoming the owner retiring in 2014. Throughout his life, Louis had a passion for music, dancing and playing guitars. This passion was instilled in his children. He was an avid bowler his whole life entering various tournaments across the United States. He was well known for his love of classic cars and created a family from all the car shows he attended with his trophy-winning 1955 Mercury. He was deeply loved by all that knew him, and he will forever leave a lasting impression.
His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven SATURDAY morning, August 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. A service will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery Garden Mausoleum at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends may call Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Fund at www.holeinthewallgang.org.
