Police, Mayor Welcome Kids, Staff Back To School, Remind Drivers to 'Slow Down, Look Out For Kids, Buses'

EAST HAVEN, CT—East Haven's mayor and police department welcomed students and staff back to school, wished all a good year, and reminded folks to take a little extra time on the roads, as families get used to the new routine.

And officials reminded drivers to slow down, pay close attention around school buses and bus stops, and keep an eye out for students walking or crossing the road.

"Welcome back to school, East Haven. We want to welcome all of our students, teachers, and staff back for another great school year," the East Haven Police Department shared.

School resource officers Burrell and Scelza shared both are "excited to see everyone back in the hallways and classrooms and look forward to another safe and successful year."

Mayor Joseph A. Carfora shared a "special shout-out to our teachers, administrators, and school staff who work hard each and every day to make the school year a success."

"Let's all do our part to keep our students safe throughout the school year," he said.
