Mayor: Sand Bags Available For East Haven Residents In Advance Of Forecasted Nor-easter

EAST HAVEN, CT — Mayor Joseph A. Carfora announced that sand is available for "residents who may need to prepare sandbags."

Carfora took to Facebook in advance of the predicted nor'easter heading East Haven's way.

Carfora said the sand is located in the "smaller beach parking lot behind the bocce courts."

The gate is open for residents to access the area, he said, adding that bags and a shovel are available on the site.

"Please remember that the supplies are being provided for all residents and homes that may need such supplies," the mayor said. "We ask that everyone only take what they need so supplies remain available for as many of your neighbors as possible."

He added that folks should "stay safe and stay prepared."
