EAST HAVEN, CT—Cherie Sarno has been named East Haven's new Director of Social Services. Sarno brings with her 10 years of experience with the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut and holds a master's in public health.
"Her experience working with individuals, families, older adults, and community resources brings valuable knowledge and a strong commitment to serving the community," Mayor Joseph A. Carfora said.
Sarno joined the town in August and, according to Carfora, has "spent the past several weeks getting acquainted with the department, its programs, and the needs of the community."
"Cherie brings valuable experience to this position, along with her genuine commitment to helping others," Carfora said. "She has already spent time getting to know the needs of our residents, and I am confident she will be a tremendous resource for East Haven. We are very pleased to have her as part of our team."
As Director of Social Services, Carfora said she's "committed to helping East Haven residents connect with the programs, services, and resources they need."
