Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11, this year, bringing another round of freebies and special offers from restaurants, retailers and other businesses. But some military discounts aren't limited to Veterans Day. Veterans, service members and military families can find ways to save throughout November and, in some cases, year-round.

The Shore Line Trolley Museum offers free admission to active-duty military members and veterans with a valid military ID through its Blue Star Museum program. Admission includes unlimited rides on historic streetcars along the Branford Electric Railway line and access to museum exhibits. The offer is available at the door during regular summer operations and does not apply to special events.

According to graceforvets.com, Splash Car Wash Express is participating in a program that provides free car washes to veterans and active-duty military members on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Customers should contact their local Splash Car Wash Express to confirm participation and offer details.

The Home Depot recognizes military service members and their families with a 10% discount on eligible purchases year-round. Active-duty personnel, veterans and military spouses can take advantage of the offer both in stores and online, with annual savings capped at $400. To participate, shoppers must verify their eligibility through The Home Depot's military discount program.

To honor those who have served, Chili's is providing free Veterans Day meals to military veterans and active-duty personnel on Nov. 11. Guests can select an entree from a special menu that includes several restaurant favorites, such as Chicken Crispers, an Oldtimer Burger with Cheese and Soup & House Salad. The offer is available only for dine-in at participating locations and does not include beverages or gratuity.

Chipotle is honoring veterans and active-duty military members with free chips and dip on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, with a minimum $5 purchase. Eligible guests can choose classic or Chili Lime Chips paired with guacamole, Queso Blanco or salsa. The offer is available in-store only at participating locations, and valid proof of military service is required.

Dunkin' plans to recognize Veterans Day by offering a free donut to veterans and active-duty military personnel, according to Veteran.com. Available Wednesday, Nov. 11, the promotion requires no additional purchase and applies at participating locations while supplies last. Military identification is generally not required, although bringing proof of service is suggested.
Veterans and service members can also find year-round military savings at some national retailers with locations near East Haven.
