REX Development Schedules CEDS Outreach Meetings
North Haven, CT - September 28, 2012 - Every five years, REX Development creates a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for South Central Connecticut according to guidelines set by the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The CEDS is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen regional economies.
The update process includes analysis of the regional economy, establishing regional goals and objectives, implementing a regional plan of action, identifying investment priorities and funding sources and, finally, defining the metrics of success.
One of the most critical steps is the outreach process. Staff from REX Development will meet with residents of each city/town in the region to obtain their views on regional economic development priorities, as well as the economic development priorities for their municipalities. All meetings are open to the public.
