Aviation Career Exploration Program takes flight with "Exploring Aviation Open House" for middle school students, parents at Tweed Tuesday.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Billed as the nation's "first middle school-focused Aviation Career Exploration Program," East Haven Public Schools, Avelo Airlines and the Boys Scouts of America partner have partnered to "inspire a new generation of aerospace professionals."

Tuesday at Tweed New Haven Airport, Avelo Airlines will host a two-hour “Exploring Aviation Open House” to debut a five-month program. As many as 50 middle school students from Joseph Melillo Middle School and East Haven Academy will be accepted to the Aviation Career Exploration Program.

Called ACE, it's the "first middle school-focused curriculum of its kind in the country," according to news release from the airline.

East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora, will join East Haven middle-schoolers and their parents/guardians at the airport with Avelo Airlines Head of Safety and Operational Excellence Michael Quiello and new Avports Tweed-New Haven Airport CEO Michael Jones.
