EAST HAVEN, CT — The People's United Bank inside the Hemingway Avenue Stop & Shop was robbed Wednesday afternoon, police said.
East Haven Police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo confirmed for Patch that the bank was robbed. He said a "white male demanded money and fled" in a red truck. Murgo said there was "no weapon displayed or mentioned." Murgo said the suspect did get money, though it's not known how much.
Investigators spoke with witnesses, Murgo said, noting police are looking for an older model red or maroon Ford F-150 with several mattresses and other items in the bed of the truck. Murgo said police want to identify and talk to two men featured in photos he provided, one of whom is the suspect and the other was driving the truck.
