From The Bench: The Monsters are HERE!!! Come see them for yourselves!

See the Monsters up Close!!!

I had the pleasure of being up close with two of the greatest monster trucks and their drivers. Gravedigger driven by Tyler Menninga and Scooby-Doo driven by Bailey Shea. They are just part of the Monster Jam Invasion that is at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport this weekend. My son Max and I are huge Monster Jam fans and have been for over 20 years. In my conversation with Tyler and Bailey you could just see how much they love what they do, their eyes lit up when they were talking about driving these Monster machines and their love for competition was also prevalent. When asked about injuries or danger they both said these are the safest trucks they ever been in. Safety is first in their business and no fear. “The fans are #1”, Shea said, “the best fans ever!”. Tyler said when he hears the roar of the crowd he just wants to “hit the gas and impress the fans”. Shea loves the energy she gets from her fans, “The fans are why we're here, and after you make a great run and I see all the Scooby-Doo fans cheering, it’s the greatest feeling ever”. Monster Jam has also let the fans be part of the show. By using social media on your phone every fan can rate the drivers run and the scores are used to pick a winner. I asked both drivers who's going to win this weekend and both answered at the same time. "ME!" I can’t wait to see the final results!
