Burglar Foiled Trying To Break Into Woman's Home: East Haven PD
Police say they were able to quickly apprehend the suspect, who was also wanted on a parole violation.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A man broke into an East Haven resident's house and fled once the homeowner heard him, police said. The man was arrested quickly by police. On Thursday, officers responded to an Edgar Street address for a report of a burglary in process.
The female victim told officers that a tall white male with a beard entered her residence through a basement window, walked up her basement stairs and attempted to gain access to the rest of the house but was unsuccessful because of a locked door at the top of the stairs, Police Lt. Joseph Murgo said.
She stated that the man fled while she was on the phone with 911 dispatchers and she last saw him running up Donald Street towards Waldo Street, police said. A description of the individual was given out to responding officers, including Officer Kevin Mcguire and K-9 Ace who also arrived on scene.

At that time, Doheny was placed under arrest and transported to the East Haven Police Department for processing. During the course of an interview, Doheny fully admitted to his involvement in the burglary, Murgo said.
Doheny was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree in violation of Connecticut General Statute 53a-102, and was turned over to the New Haven Parole Office who took him into custody for a parole violation.
