Animal lover Mabel uses clever new technology designed to "hop" human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals to communicate with beavers, uncovering mysteries within the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined.
Extra parking is available at East Haven Town Hall (250 Main Street), KeyBank (after 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays), and in the Stop and Shop lot behind the library.

The Shore Line Trolley Museum

Spend the day riding historic trolley cars and help support the preservation of electric railway history.
During Membership Drive Day, visitors are invited to learn more about becoming part of the Shore Line Trolley Museum community. Members help support the restoration of historic trolley cars, the maintenance of the railway, and the preservation of transportation history for future generations.
For this special event, visitors who join, renew, or rejoin the museum will receive 10% off the cost of membership.
Membership benefits include free or reduced admission throughout the season, invitations to select member programs, and the opportunity to support the preservation of historic trolley equipment.
Memberships take effect immediately, so new and renewing members can begin enjoying their benefits right away.
The museum is open with scenic trolley rides and tours operating throughout the day, and normal admission applies.

Hagaman Memorial Library is honored to host an art reception on Saturday, June 27th from 2 - 4pm in our Large Print Reading Room in honor of local poet, author, and artist Stirling Davenport! Stirling will feature her collection "Reflections of India: Paintings by Stirling Davenport." In 2005-2006, she volunteered in Northern India doing art therapy with Tibetan refugee children. She felt enormous gratitude for the time she shared with the children, and she continued volunteering for six months. She then stayed another five months to travel and see more of the country and also met the Dalai Lama. Stirling's paintings reveal her personal reflections of her precious time spent in India, as well as paintings from some of her photographs and travels in Nepal and Tibet. There is no RSVP needed to come down to Hagaman to appreciate the arts and to show support for local talent!

East Haven's 24th annual Fireworks and Beach Bash is set for Saturday, June 27.
This year’s event promises a day filled with live music, great food, and festive fun for the entire family, according to East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora.
"This year’s Fireworks and Beach Bash carries special meaning as we begin looking ahead to America’s 250th anniversary," Carfora said. "It is a time for our community to come together at the beach, celebrate our country, enjoy great music and food, and show the patriotic spirit that makes East Haven special. I encourage everyone to join us for another memorable night on the shoreline."
A wide range of food trucks and local vendors will be stationed throughout the day, offering a variety of eats to suit all tastes.
Live entertainment lineup:
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Gunn St. Revival. From 7 p.m. until and after fireworks, The Rum Runners perform. Carfora said that "as it worked out so well last year," live music will continue after the fireworks, with The Rum Runners returning to the stage for a second set following the grand finale at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Also, 99.1 PLR’s Eddie Sab will be on site with giveaways and music from the PLR tent.
Please note that access to the beach area will be limited starting at 9 a.m., due to road closures. The East Haven Police Department will be assisting with traffic control to help ensure a safe and smooth day for all attendees.
In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will be held Monday, June 29, with limited entertainment and the fireworks show.
