Carfora: Committees For Expansion Of Senior, Veterans Tax Breaks

Democratic mayoral candidate Joe Carfora is pledging to form respective committees to review and recommend expanded tax breaks for seniors and veterans.

"As I have been saying since I started this campaign, I am in favor of providing greater benefits to our seniors in need to help keep them in their homes," Carfora said. "They have paid their dues and they don't need any additional stress in trying to remain in their homes. I am going to help them.”

Carfora went on to say our veterans are more deserving than anyone to receive whatever we can do for them.

"Look at what their sacrifices have done for all of us," Carfora said. "Without our veterans, none of us would be enjoying the freedoms we enjoy. We owe them a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay but at least we can try doing more and I am going to.”

Carfora went on to say that he will "put together individual committees for both groups comprised of both Town officials and residents within 60 days upon taking office."

"My goal is to have a broad range of participants on these committees to get the best ideas that we can," Carfora said. "I will be trimming budget fat to offset these tax breaks so there will be no impact on increasing taxes on the rest of our taxpayers."
