Changes To East Haven Budget Include Raises For Some: Report
Some changes were made to the proposed budget by a Town Council committee.
EAST HAVEN, CT — There is very little drama in regard to the proposed East Haven budget as a slight tax decrease is proposed and that is likely why just three people attended a public hearing this week.
The proposed $92.02 million budget for fiscal 2019-20, if approved, would result in a very, very slight tax decrease, 0.03 mills to be precise, the New Haven Register reports.
Some changes to the budget include adding $22,834 to give raises to 11 Town Hall employees, who are not in the union, the Register reports. The raises equal a 2 percent pay hike. Finance Director Paul Rizza would receive a 5 percent increase. Other raises were proposed for several department heads too.
