Coyote Sightings Still Reported in East Haven

East Haven Animal Control still reports coyote sightings and they have offered tips on how to keep your pets safe.

Here are some tips to help with keeping your animals safe from coyotes. We are still getting reports of people seeing them, so we just ask that you keep your pets safe. But we must emphasize again, we will not harm any wild animal unless it is posing a threat or is injured.

• keep your pets close, especially at dusk, night and dawn
• go outside with them
• keep them on a leash
• put up a solid fence
• at night put lights on and make noise before you go outside
