Coyotes Heard in East Haven

Please take precautions when you take your pets out, stay outside with them, and we strongly recommend keeping your cats inside, according to the East Haven Animal Shelter’s Facebook page.

“We live on the other side of the Silver Sands Industrial Park, toward Coe and last night, when letting out our dogs around 9 pm, we heard very clearly, VERY LOUD howling and barking coyotes last night. It was so loud, we heard it even with the storm door closed. It was the loudest we have heard it in years. It also seemed to be more than a few coyotes. Please everyone, in the area, keep your animals close and watch them when you let them out at night,” the animal shelter shared a East Haven resident’s Facebook post.

Other residents said they heard the coyotes as well.
