Deko Elected Town Council Chairman, Pacelli Elected Vice Chairman

"Together with Mayor Carfora, we pledge open communication and transparent government to assure residents are informed," Deko said.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Saying he is committed to transparency and keeping residents informed, East Haven Town Councilor Joe Deko, who was elected for a third term earlier this month, was on Monday "unanimously" elected as Council chair. Deko said his "friend" Lou Pacelli was elected to serve as vice chair.

Deko and Pacelli said they were "honored" and are "looking forward to serving two more years."

"Together with Mayor Carfora, we pledge to keep open communication, and transparent government to assure the residents are informed and are comfortable coming to us with questions or issues," Deko said. "We commit to keeping public comment open at our regular meetings as we have done in the last term. We believe residents need to be informed on what’s going on within the town, and have a platform to get their questions answered and issues resolved, and we welcome public comment. We have an open door policy and are committed to the people of East Haven, and its visitors."
