A New Haven County landmark is no more after fire left the building in a total loss.
Fire officials say the remnants of the building will be torn down today, WFSB 3 and numerous media outlets are reporting.
Ten people who lived in the five apartments above the building are also displaced. Heavy smoke and fire poured out of Delaney’s Restaurant & Tap Roomon Whalley Avenue Monday evening, the New Haven Register reports.

Delaney’s is a popular restaurant/bar in New Haven, and attracts people from all over New Haven County. An electrical short in the basement is believed to be responsible for the fire, the Register reports.
Two firefighters were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, the Register reports. Firefighters were able to rescue a cat, the Register reports.
