Democrat Carfora Thanks Residents Night Before Mayoral Election

A letter to East Haven residents submitted by Democratic mayoral candidate Joe Carfora :

"As this campaign journey ends, I wanted to reach out to the residents of East Haven one final time.

This campaign has been a humbling experience for me. What an honor it is to be nominated to seek the privilege of leading our hometown; an honor that I have not taken lightly which is why I personally committed to run a positive and respectful campaign.

During the last 8 months, we have outlined almost an issue a week. It is unquestionably important for a team to provide a vision, but it is equally important to outline plans to execute on that vision; AND we have done that. Our team is made up of dedicated people from all over our community. We are a melting pot of East Haven residents; varying in age, gender, differing professional backgrounds; some have experience in town government, while others are new to this arena. But make no mistake, collectively we share the common goal of making East Haven an affordable place to live.

As beautiful as Connecticut is, living, working or running a small business here is no easy task. Rest assured that a Carfora administration will govern every day with compassion, and with the recognition that we must keep taxes in check, but also provide the services that our community needs and deserves.

From the contentious issue at DC Moore school to the Sperry Lane developer zone change, we continue to stand side by side with our taxpayers. I have heard your concerns about taxes, education, and issues like: public safety, town road conditions, protections for our senior citizens, development, open space and the condition of our playing fields ... a Carfora administration will act responsibly on each when I am elected your Mayor.

In these final two weeks, we have knocked on hundreds of doors and dropped reams of literature at your homes. We have used US mail, print media, social, and electronic media to get our message to you all, with the goal of helping you to make a choice on election day, November 5.

The Carfora Team has been endorsed by hardworking Unions and most recently the New Haven Register. Our plans are solid, and we have assembled a great team to deliver on them.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, say yes to change, growth, prosperity, honesty, transparency, and a new day for the Town of East Haven.
