Democratic Town Committee Meets Remotely, Names Officers
East Haven Democratic Town Committee acting chair Tina Hedley said the group met remotely and named its new slate of officers.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Democratic Town Committee hosted their first ever virtual meeting this month and held elections.
Acting Chair Tina Hedley said there was a "great turn out of new members" despite the unprecedented way meetings are now being held given social distancing orders to mitigate the community spread of coronavirus.
"It was exciting to venture into new technology, a first for the committee. Although the reasons why we had hosted a virtual meeting are unfortunate, it shows how strong everyone is and how we adapt in tough times," she said. "I was nervous to Chair a meeting through my computer, but it all went so well."

In January, Hedley chaired the East Haven Democratic Town Committee’s Caucus where the party cast "one ballot and unanimously voted for all the newly elected 2020-2021 term. No paper ballots were needed. We all were so proud of that moment showing togetherness.”
"This past virtual meeting mirrored the same togetherness and required no voting to take place. We again unanimously chose our new officers. It just goes to show we are a united party and ready to keep thriving for our community and town we love," Hedley said.
