Dominic Paul Amodio obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Dominic Paul Amodio 93 lifelong resident of East Haven passed away June 15, 2026 at Whispering Pines. He was born October 4, 1932 in New Haven to John and Margaret (Mongillo) Amodio. Dominic is survived by his nieces and nephews; Tracey Amodio of Branford, Phyllis Amodio of Bristol, Joanne Preneta (David) of Branford along with three great nephew/nieces; Cheryl Magee (Bryan), Eric Preneta and Sarah Morehouse.
Dominic is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Peter Amodio, sister, Julia Russo, niece, Linda Opotzner and a nephew, Justin Opotzner.
Dominic was a US Navy veteran proudly serving his country from 1956-1960. He is a retired employee of the City of New Haven with over 30 years in the Custodial Services Department. He loved going to the beach, especially the East Haven Town Beach and Lighthouse Park in New Haven. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed taking care of his house and was a member of the ANNEX Club.

Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM on Friday June 19, 2026 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will follow with US Navy Honors at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
