DUI Driver Clocked At 126 MPH In East Haven: CT State Police
The man displayed signs of impairment and refused to conduct standardized field sobriety tests, according to CT State Police.
EAST HAVEN, CT — A 53-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning after, police say, he was under the influence and clocked driving 126 mph on Interstate-95 in East Haven.
Erik Gravem, of Guilford, was charged with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to Connecticut State Police.
On July 7 at approximately 1:15 a.m., troopers from Troop G-Bridgeport noticed a vehicle traveling northbound on I-95 in the area of Exit 52 in East Haven at a high rate of speed, state police said.

The vehicle was traveling at 126 mph in a 50 mph zone, state police said.
"Gravem displayed signs of impairment and was asked to submit to field sobriety tests. Gravem refused to conduct standardized field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest without incident," state police said.

Gravem was unable to post a $2,500 bond. He was arraigned at New Haven Superior Court on Monday.
