East Haven Board of Education to Finalize Firm for Feasibility Study on Proposed Redistricting

The board will choose a firm to conduct the study that is expected to cost $30,000.

The East Haven Board of Education will choose an architectural firm to conduct a feasibility study for the district’s consolidation plan at their Jan. 13 meeting, the New Haven Register reports.

The board will choose between three companies that have submitted requests for qualifications.

According to the Register, the feasibility study is expected to cost $30,000 and will help the district assess the actual costs of the proposed redistricting. Currently, officials estimate that the project could end up costing the town between $50 million to $60 million.

The consolidation is part of the district’s strategic plan that includes closing two elementary schools while keeping three elementary schools, a middle school attached with another school and a high school.
