East Haven Comes Together To Remember Plane Crash Victims
There will be a short ceremony Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

One year ago, tragedy struck when a twin-prop aircraft struck two homes on Charter Oak Avenue in East Haven, killing four people, including East Haven children Sade Brantley (age 13) and Madisyn Mitchell (age 1) as well as the pilot and his 17 year old son.
There will be a memorial service as East Haven remembers the victims. All are welcomed.
It will be held 11:30 a.m. at Margaret Tucker Park, 275 Main Street.

“We want it to be a remembrance,” said event organizer, Karen Johnson in an interview with the New Haven Register. “It’s going to be a short worship service with prayers to remember the event.”
“It’s been a year since our town went through this huge thing,” Johnson told Evan Lips. “We are still healing.”

On that day one year ago William Henninsgaard, of Washington, failed in his landing approach to Tweed-New Haven Airport and struck two houses at 64 and 68 Charter Oak Avenue. Henninsgaard and his son also died in the crash.
