East Haven Democrat to Take On Republican Fasano in 34th District

Retired Navy Man Says He Will Fight For East Haven Voters If Elected to State Senate Seat in Hartford.

EAST HAVEN, CT - The top Republican in Connecticut's Senate, Len Fasano, has a challenger. Democrat Josh Balter announced Tuesday he is running for the 34th State Senate seat that covers East Haven and North Haven.

Balter said: “Len Fasano has let the voters in this district down. The recent budget pushed through by Fasano and the GOP causes real harm to the people of our state. Fasano does not deserve the honor of representing the people of the 34th district. I will never forget who I represent and will be a voice for all of the people.”

Balter lives in East Haven with his wife Lisa. They have four children and their two grandchildren attend East Haven public schools.

Balter is seeking a campaign grant through the Citizen’s Election Program (CEP). “This program allows regular people like myself to run for office. I have to get small donations from local residents to qualify for the grant. I’m not running to serve high-powered donors, I’m running to serve the people in the 34th district.”
