East Haven To Distribute Coronavirus Rapid Test Kits, N95 Masks
The town will give the test kits to residents 17+ who are symptomatic or a case close contact on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m., until they run out.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Noting that the at-home, rapid COVID-19 test kits are scarce, the town will distribute the test kits and N-95 masks it's received Tuesday. The plan is for the distribution to take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the East Haven High School, 35 Wheelbarrow Lane. But that will only last as long as the kits do. The town received just over 2,000 test kits.
It's noted by the town that people who arrive too early will be "turned away."
With neighboring towns and the East Shore District Health Department, the following criteria has been established to receive a kit:

• Must be a town resident, driver’s license or State of Connecticut identification card as proof (have identification ready on arrival)
• Over the age of 17, children will not be given kits, school age children will receive kits later in January
• Symptomatic; fever, chills, cough
• You have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or has the symptoms of COVID-19.
And, people should wear a mask at the distribution point.

About vaccinations, booster shots
Residents that have not been vaccinated or received a booster can get their COVID-19 vaccine or booster now and can do so by visiting ct.gov/covidvaccine.
The state Department of Public Health is in the process of adding 7 more community testing sites to its current roster of 23 state-sponsored sites. Information on the approximately 400 COVID-19 testing sites currently operating in Connecticut is available by calling 2-1-1 or visiting 211CT.org.
