The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
The single biggest issue in town is the Tweed expansion. I look forward to beginning talks and to getting our questions answered in terms of how the expansion will benefit East Haven’s economic development as well as what will be done to mitigate noise, land and water pollution. I intend to listen intently to the citizens of East Haven to the best of my ability, do what is best for all the citizens. The taxpayers in my district have much at stake as far as the Tweed expansion is concerned. If it happens, and I will do my best to see that East Haven benefits!
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
Honestly, I am unfamiliar with the positions of others. I know what is important to me and that is working towards improving the quality of life for all East Haveners. Also important to me is that we re-elect Mayor Carfora in order to continue the good works he and his administration have begun.
Accomplishments:
I am very proud of the Momauguin/Cosey Beach Neighborhoods Group that several of us founded in the fall of 2015! We are proof that hardworking small groups are heard and can do great things. I am also proud of the time I have been on the East Haven Zoning Board of Appeals and proud to be the current Chairperson of this board.
Other issues:
I would like our town to look for opportunities to acquire open space. I would like open space to be used for human enrichment and environmental education and plain old outdoor family enjoyment! That should include a dog park!
What else would you like voters to know about you?
East Haven lost two very important amenities due to the lack of care of the previous administration, the ice rink and the pool. We need to seek grants and monies to begin rebuilding these important amenities. Both of these are good for our town, good for our kids and families! We can never let complacency or ignorance ruin town gems again. We must find ways to replace and take care of our valuable assets. I will work towards assuring the repairing or replacing of these assets. And again, and improving OUR quality of life is most important for me.
