The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
In education, it has to be improving test scores. I will continue to work to make sure that teachers have everything they need to provide our students with a quality education.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
Experience and the fact that I spent two decades as a classroom teacher.
Accomplishments:
I’m seeking reelection, and for the past year I’ve been working closely with the Athletic Director to maintain and improve our athletic facilities. I hope to continue doing this work and again providing our student athletes with a quality experience on the field and in the classroom.
Other issues:
I hope to work with the administration and the unions to provide equitable contracts to all. I want to continue to work to make sure that the additional 30 minutes of instructional time, that has been added this year, and is being used in a productive manner to aid all of our students.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I’ve been a resident of East Haven since 1957 and educated in the East Haven Public School System beginning in 3rd grade at Deer Run and graduating from East Haven High School in 1967. I served in the USMC from 1968 to 1971, and spent 13 months as a combat Marine in Vietnam, March 1969 to March 1970. Married to my wife Susan for 50 years in August 2022. In the late 90s, I served as President of the Hoop Club and then as President of the Yellowjacket Club. I presently serve on a number of civic organizations and veteran’s group, and I’m the chairman of the East Haven Veteran’s Council, and planning and instituting all military celebrations for the town.
